BUREAUCRACY REFORM IS THE KEY TO IMPROVE SERVICES QUALITY
(Jakarta, 7/12/09) The Minister of Communications (Minister) Freddy Numberi asserted that bureaucratic reform is essential in order to improve the quality of public service communications sector.. "There is no place for those who do not want a reformation," said the Minister. The assertion was made by the Minister when he opened the Workshop of the Department of Transportation on Monday, December 7, 2009, in the office of the Department of Transportation Jl Merdeka Barat 8 Jakarta.
This Workshop provides a strategic value, then I hope all will be able to attend this event, either they from the Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation, and the State Enterprises," emphasized the Minister. According to Minister of Transport, this workshop should be a media to share ideas and discuss the challenges in facing the development of an increasingly heavy duty and the strategic circumstances changes. Moreover, this Workshop must also result in a strategic decision to solve some problems we've faced so far, both at the policy level and operational level.
The theme of the Workshop held Department of Transportation in 2009 was "Improving the Performance of Transportation Service in Supporting National Economic Recovery and Maintaining Welfare Through the Spirit of Reformation". This workshop was attended by a number of officers of echelon I and II in the Department of Transportation including the Technical Unit (Airports Administrators, Port Administrators, and Head of Navigation District), attaches of communications, State-Owned Transportation Bureau (BUMN), the National SAR Agency, BMKG, and the Head of Provincial Transport Department in Indonesia. In addition to the Minister of Transport, the Deputy Minister of Transportation, Bambang Susantono also delivered a technical briefing on the challenges that awaits the transportation sector. Besides, there was also a guest speaker from the Commission for Corruption Watch (KPK) who presented a material on prevention of corruption. This meeting was scheduled to end on December 8, 2009. (RF)
